So I'm in the process of transferring this blogger page to tumblr because I think that's where all the kids do their web logging these days... Unfortunately I wasn't able to transfer everything over today because there was a "daily post limit". However, this means you can check out some older photos that were buried in the blog from 2+ years ago. Consider this my gift to you. Now I'm going to go back to eating my turkey club. I don't understand why anyone would come up with a sandwich that could have easily included 4 extra strips of bacon and instead chose to include an extra slice of bread.
Life has been getting in the way of being creative lately. We went to Princeton this weekend and I didn't take a single photo. The weather was crummy so we didn't really get to walk around as much as we would have liked to. However, we made two trips to Princeton Record Exchange where I picked up the Criterion Collection Wings of Desire AND the soundtrack on vinyl which I thought was an awesome find as well as Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession, Contempt, Naked Lunch and the new Nick Cave album. I'm going to make an effort to post more frequently even if it's not strictly photos. In case you were wondering, Ava enjoyed her time in Princeton.

Albert Maysles on meeting his wife: Did I ever tell you the story of how I met her? With Salesman, we felt we were making a new kind of documentary, and we thought, Oh, all the distributors will want to see this film. But none of them were interested. So we raised enough money to rent a theater and we had a screening and maybe a hundred people showed up. They congratulated me, and when it ended, I noticed there was just one person left in the theater. When she got up to leave, I saw that she had been crying. As she got closer, I saw how attractive she was, and I elbowed my brother and said, "She's for me." That she'd been for me all along. Romance, huh? What's more romantic than the whole process of making a film and, moment to moment, discovering something that you couldn't imagine?
